After the doctor reviews your specific complaints and documentation, he will speak with you in detail, discussing the specific issues you wish to have addressed. A thorough and detailed examination will be conducted allowing the doctor to assess and evaluate your complaints. If you have seen other healthcare facilities and have diagnostic imaging or testing (X-ray, CAT Scans, MRI, etc.), reports should be brought in to aid the doctor’s evaluation of your condition. The findings of the examination will be discussed in addition to patient expectations. A plan for care will be developed with goals and a time frame will be established for reasonable response and outcome.
Treatment will depend upon the patient’s specific complaints and needs. Administration of adjustments and physiotherapies will usually be followed by transition into a more active care model including rehabilitation and specific exercises for the patient’s condition. Home care advice may also be recommended for the patient to self administer. This may include stretching, ice, moist heat and ergonomic advice.
