Dr. Vasakiris has been a Chiropractor in practice in Lindenhurst, New York for over 26 years. He is a Board Certified Chiropractic Neurologist who specializes in the management and rehabilitation of musculo-skeletal disorders of the cervical and lumbar spine. Dr. Vasakiris completed his undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University. He received his doctoral degree in Chiropractic from New York Chiropractic College in 1989. He subsequently obtained his diplomate training in Chiropractic Neurology and certification in electro-diagnostic evaluations through the postgraduate department of New York Chiropractic College. Currently, Dr. Vasakiris is adjunct clinical faculty for New York Chiropractic College where his responsibilities include direct clinical training and supervision of residents in all aspects of direct patient clinical care.
Dr. Vasakiris has successfully treated hundreds of patients suffering from conditions ranging from muscle spasms, arthritis, uncomplicated neck and lower back pain to more serious injuries of the spine including herniated discs, stenosis and sciatica. Patients undergo a very comprehensive initial evaluation to allow the doctor a thorough understanding of their complaints and care options. The majority of patients with spinal musculo-skeletal problems can be managed with conservative chiropractic treatments and expect good relief/outcomes. In the minority of cases where chiropractic management may not be the most beneficial intervention for the patients needs, Dr. Vasakiris has excellent relations with many local physicians specializing in Internal Medicine, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and Pain Management to facilitate the care the patient may require.
Dr. Vasakiris has extensive experience lecturing both domestically and internationally. He is a former 13 year lead instructor and curriculum developer for “Graston Technique” an instrument assisted soft tissue treatment modality. He is also a senior faculty member of American Academy of Clinical Electrodiagnosis. He is an active member of the New York State Chiropractic Association. He also has been a registered nerve conduction study Technologist since 1993.
